Prince Harry Honors Late Mother Princess Diana With Special Gift For Nephew Louis

A brilliant and heartwarming idea

A baby’s christening is always a big day for the family, and when that baby happens to be a prince, it’s an especially momentous occasion!

On July 9, Prince William and Kate brought Prince Louis to the Chapel Royal at St James’ Palace be baptized by the Archbishop of Canterbury.

The special day was a family affair. Louis’ older siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, were on hand to look after their little brother (and give the waiting journalists and photographers some laughs), and newly married Prince Harry and Meghan – Prince Louis’ uncle and aunt – also joined in the festivities.

To mark the occasion, Harry wanted to give Louis a special gift, and it’s safe to say he picked the perfect one.

It has been reported that Harry purchased an £8,000 first edition Winnie-the-Pooh book for little Louis – one of an original 30,000 that were printed in 1926.

While the book would be a nice present in its own right, one of Harry’s friends explains the special significance this gift holds:

“One of Harry’s happiest childhood memories was being read a bedtime story by his mother,” the friend revealed. “She loved all the classics and Harry had the brilliant idea of starting a little library of first editions.”

What a beautiful gesture!

We know Princess Diana would have loved to be there to meet her grandchildren and participate in these special family events, but she is there in spirit and, as Prince Harry’s gift clearly shows, her legacy will continue to live on.
